The Southern Skies Trip

The inspiration for the trip was astronomical in the first instance.

Firstly to try to view the total eclipse in Northern Queensland on 14th November (local time) and secondly to get a view of the southern stars invisible from 52 degrees north.

Of course, there is the bonus of actually seeing Australia and New Zealand for the first time. We decided to complete the round the world trip by coming home via San Francisco (of which we are more or less citizens anyway) and then joining Leonie. Brian and the kids for Christmas and the New Year in Brooklyn.

All in all the biggest trip yet. Next year….The moon, Mars….who knows!
